Why a busy mom of two decided to build a photo tool at her kitchen table — and what it means for you.
Hi, I'm the person behind this little website — and before anything else, I'm a wife and a mom of two young kids. Most of my days are a juggle: school drop-offs, meals, homework, and somewhere in between, trying to get through my own to-do list.
One evening, in the middle of that juggle, I needed a "self-attested" photo for an urgent document submission — the kind where you sign across your own photograph and it has to be a specific size, clear, and properly formatted. Simple enough, I thought. It wasn't.
The nearest photo studio was closed for the day. The kids were too little to leave alone even for a quick errand, and every app I tried either wanted me to sign up, watermarked my photo unless I paid, or uploaded my picture to some server I knew nothing about — for something as personal as an ID photo, that didn't sit right with me at all.
That frustration is exactly where the idea for SelfAttested was born. I couldn't find a tool that did this one small but genuinely stressful task simply and safely, so — between school runs and bedtime stories — I decided to build one myself.
It started as a fix for my own problem. It's now here for anyone else stuck exactly where I was: needing a proper self-attested or ID photo, right now, without the hassle.
Everything happens on your own device — nothing you upload here ever leaves your browser.
SelfAttested is a set of free, browser-based tools for the everyday photo and document tasks people get stuck on — self-attestation, passport photos, PAN card photos, and general photo resizing. You open a tool, do the task, and download the result. There's no account to create, no app to install, and no server in between.
The same things I was looking for that evening and couldn't find.
